On view Friday, January 2 through Friday, January 30

Opening Reception & Castro Art Walk Friday, January 2, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM

Fifth graders from Saint Philip School of San Francisco will present their “Endangered Animal Parade” of sculptures they made while learning about endangered animals, the importance of protecting their habitats, and ending the unnecessary poaching of these remarkable creatures.

Organized by Ms. A (Alicia Guckenheimer-Harrell), Art Teacher, Saint Philip School of San Francisco

The Rosenberg Early Childhood Education Center of the JCCSF will present pieces by children aged 2-5 in their expressive exploration of clay.

The choices of materials for the studio are informed by:  The human history of materials for sensory perception, creation for utility, spiritual, and aesthetic expression.  Artist's ways of seeing, thinking, doing, making, and always joy.  The emergence of sensory and perceptual expression, and ways of knowing in child development.

Collecting from nature, constructing with repurposed materials, exploring with light & shadow, a material as elemental, grounding, and historic as clay and ceramic processes are central to what we offer.

Organized by Julia Glanville, Studio, Garden & Jewish Resource Specialist, Rosenberg Early Childhood Education Center, Jewish Community Center of San Francisco

In addition to artworks in the gallery, there are over fifty artist’s work for sale and on display everyday throughout the studio.
